Reaching out is hard but you’re almost there, I wish you strength and courage.
Hello
and Welcome
Thank you for finding me
I am a Social Worker registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers.
My areas of speciality include grief, loss, bereavement, trauma, depression, anxiety, parenting, and ADD/ADHD coaching and support.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative and strengths-based which means that together we gently explore what’s going right as well as what’s going wrong.
Together we examine your situation and develop insight while we also apply practical, manageable, evidence-based strategies to get you feeling better.
I am not here to judge. I am here to listen and to help you sort through it all.
It starts with a conversation. Then we make a plan.
If we find that we’re a good fit, we meet in person or online via video chat.
If we find that we’re not a good fit that’s ok. I will always try to provide ideas and contacts for your next step.
Either way, we move you forward.
It takes courage to reach out. That courage deserves to be met with useful information and understanding.
Hang in there. Help is at hand. Courage my friend!
Warmest wishes,
Camila
Grief and trauma
El mal no domanda permesso
Pain does not ask permission
We all have in us the ability to weather storms. But, every once in a while a storm is so severe or prolonged or unexpected that we are left devastated in its wake. We feel deeply shaken, damaged, perhaps even adrift.
How do we look to the future with hope again?
We may be overwhelmed by feelings of
emptiness, despair and lethargy
confusion, disorganization and rising panic
anger, guilt and shame
profound loss and sadness
We need help putting the pieces back together again.
With post-graduate training in grief, trauma, loss and bereavement I can support you when life is at its most difficult. I am here to help you express and explore the new reality that you're facing. Together we work to make sense of what has happened.
Together we reimagine your future and together we begin to rebuild.
Life can be so painful. I hope to ease your experience of that pain.
Anxiety and depression
We live in a world that shares more than ever before. But, despite this digital intimacy we are often missing real, meaningful, authentic connection - the kind that comes from sharing your life's challenges with someone who genuinely cares and has your very best interests at heart.
Let's connect and together let's move you out of loneliness, isolation, anxiety, and depression and into confidence and deeper relationships. I bring a range of evidence-based strategies for managing distress and coping with crises - be they academic, work-related, family or relationship based.
Step by step we work to enhance your coping strategies and equip you with insights and skills that are then yours to carry forward into each stage of your life.
parenting
It can be so painful to see our children struggling -whether it be with learning challenges, peer pressure, or fragile mental health, navigating everything from grief to bullying to addiction. How can we be and do what is best for our children?
This is even more difficult if we are stressed and under pressure ourselves.
In the wake of major disruptions like separation and divorce, the death of a loved one, or a traumatic event, establishing and maintaining routines can be overwhelming. Life has been turned upside down. When a parent is under extreme stress a child’s behaviour may reflect that.
With years of experience providing parenting support and developing parenting plans I know how to help families stabilize, improve communication and de-escalate conflicts in the home or between homes.
Using calm, positive parenting techniques and resources aimed at strengthening your attachment with your child, together we can restore harmony and wellbeing to your whole family.
